AFSTA Congress

Seed sits at the start of every food system, and the African Seed Trade Association’s annual congress is where the continent’s seed industry meets to talk about it. The 26th congress was held in Cape Town under the theme of empowering Africa’s future one seed at a time, drawing more than 500 delegates from 46 countries. Seed companies, regulators, breeders and development partners discuss getting improved varieties to farmers at scale, tackling counterfeit seed and aligning regulations, with trading tables and an exhibition for doing business.
