Chianina National Show

The Chianina, an ancient Italian breed and one of the largest cattle breeds in the world, has been in South Africa since 1984, with fewer than a thousand registered animals in the country today. Chianina South Africa, an interest group formed in 2016 to promote the breeding and registration of these gentle white giants, brings breeders together to compete for national honours. Beef producers curious about the breed’s growth rate, lean meat yield and value in crossbreeding programmes will find this the ideal place to learn more.
