Lindisfarne Dormers, on Lindisfarne farm near Cathcart, hosts its 13th annual production sale, offering Dormer rams and ewes suited to intensive sheep systems. The Dormer was developed in South Africa from Dorset Horn and German Merino crosses following slaughter lamb experiments in the late 1920s, and is valued for fertility, fast growth and good carcass quality. Commercial lamb producers and Dormer breeders alike can view the animals in the morning before the sale begins.
