Pineapple Cricket Tournament

Played around Port Alfred since 1904, the Pineapple Cricket Tournament is one of the oldest and most unusual cricket events anywhere, named after the pineapples once grown throughout the district. Over eight days, around two dozen teams of farmers and local players compete across several grounds, with the whole tournament run by volunteers and a prize-giving tent that has hosted Eastern Cape cricket stars. Cricket fans, local businesses and anyone who loves rural Eastern Cape tradition should come out and support.
